Films that are have this certificate either on their poster, back of the DVD or before the film starts requires that if the audience is a child then they should be with a parent .For a film to be classed as a PG certificate the would have to follow these guidelines;

Theme: More serious issues may be featured, e.g. crime, domestic violence, racism as long as there is no kind of promoting such issues.
Language: Mild bad language only.
Nudity: Natural nudity, with no sexual context.
Sex: Sexual activity may be implied, but should be discreet and infrequent.
Violence: Moderate violence, without detail, may be allowed – if it can be explained by its setting for e.g. historic places.
Horror: Frightening sequences should not be prolonged or intense.
Drugs: There should be no references to any illegal drugs or drug use.
An example of a PG rated movie would be: Home Alone (1990)
